Nanette Norwood most recently worked on the role
of
Hannah in Tennessee Williams' most poignant drama
NIGHT
OF THE IGUANA. Previously, she played
Estelle in
NO
EXIT,
Gwendolyn in
THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST,
and
Miriam in
THE WOMEN at Marymount Manhattan Theatre.
Off-Off Broadway on 42nd Street's Theatre Row at the Nat Horne
Theatre, she appeared as Nina in THE GIRL ON THE VIA
FLAMINIA and Lily in MIDSUMMER. In musical
theatre, Nanette played one of the Angels in ANYTHING
GOES at the Manhattan Theatre and was a featured singer
in a Cabaret at Hizzoner's and the Billymunk's. To add to her
accomplishments, Ms. Norwood appears as a Lay Sister
in the opera SUOR ANGELICA as well as to have performed
and produced her own concert entitled Musical Sounds from Far
Away Places.
Ms. Norwood trained in the renowned Gately-Poole studio with
Richard Poole in the Meisner Technique and most recently with
Larry Silverberg in Meisner Technique. She has also studied
with Tara Bowles at Stella Adler and Improvisation at the Neighborhood
Playhouse.
Currently Nanette is a soprano soloist with the Oceanside Chorale
in Oceanside, Long Island, in addition to her solo work at St.
John's Catholic Church in Manhattan @ 55th and 1st. Nannette is
also currently at work on several concerts and will be doing a
video of the song "Climb Every Mountain".
In her spare time Nanette enjoys a lot of outdoor sports; volleyball,
tennis, swimming, jogging, hiking, sailing, and ice-skating.
She is an excellent photographer, capturing the human spirit
in her character studies.
